Gradients team debugs LoRA merging in eval container

Team member flagged potential bugs in the feature/pvp-eval-container branch: the prep container's detect_and_merge_lora method may fail when receiving a local model path instead of a Hub repo ID, and a volume binding mismatch could cause merged LoRA files to be saved to the wrong location. Issues were escalated for review before the next tournament.
